Nomination for Delegates and Alternates to the 58th International Convention and Election of International Officers

Dear brothers and sisters,

The nomination for delegates and alternates to the ATU’s 58th International Convention and the election of international officers shall take place at a special meeting of the executive board of Local 589 on Monday, May 23, 2016, in the union office at 295 Devonshire St., Boston. Nominations shall be in order from 9:00 AM until 9:00 PM.

To be eligible, to be nominated as a delegate to the International Convention, a member must have been an active member in good standing in the Local for the two years next preceding the day of nomination. If a member who is in arrears pays his/her arrearage within (60) sixty days of his/her date of arrears, he/she shall be considered in good standing and eligible to be an officer, delegate or holder of another elected position.

Section 47. A member to be nominated for Delegate to the International Convention in this Local Union must be present at the Union Office unless such member be confined through illness to her or his home or hospital or out of town on legitimate business.

Election to be held at the Boston Teachers Union Hall, 180 Mt. Vernon St., Dorchester (near the JFK MBTA Station on the Red Line) on Monday, June 6, 2016. Voting hours are 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Identification will be required to vote and any outstanding dues will be collected. A total of sixteen (16) delegates will be elected.
