On Tuesday, a 12-year-old boy was injured after reportedly climbing onto the roof of a moving MBTA Red Line train. After he fell from the roof of a northbound train, the Motorperson of a southbound train stopped and helped rescue him.
President Jim Evers, who was interviewed for the story, highlighted the critical role trained transportation professionals play in keeping our communities safe.
“We are grateful to the operator whose swift actions helped save this person from a possible tragedy. This incident highlights why it’s so important to have trained transportation professionals out there helping keep the public safe,” said Evers.
We thank our union brother on the Red Line for his quick response and commitment to public safety.
