The Winter 2026 edition of Carmen’s Quarterly, the official newsletter of ATU Local 589, is now available.
This issue highlights a major milestone for transit workers across Massachusetts: the signing of the historic “Assaults Stop Now” law, strengthening protections for MBTA bus and rail operators and other transit employees. Local 589 members and leadership played a key role in advocating for this legislation, which holds those who assault transit workers accountable.
