Today, at the New England Joint ATU Conference, retired ATU IVP Richard Murphy was presented with a plaque honoring his lifetime of service to improving workplaces for transit workers in Boston and across North America. A former president of Local 589 in the 1990s, Murphy began his career as a bus and streetcar operator. Congratulations, IVP Murphy, on your well-deserved retirement!
