Police searching for woman who smashed MBTA bus window after being asked to wear a mask

When the operator asked her to put on a mask, this lady smashed the window of an MBTA bus in Chelsea at Bellingham Square on Sunday, July 25, 2021, at approximately 3:57 PM. If you know her whereabouts or identity, please contact MBTA Transit Police Criminal Investigations Unit at 617-222-1050.

In an interview with WHDH, Local 589 President Jim Evers said  “A lot of passengers don’t want to wear masks. Unfortunately our operators are taking the brunt of this. They’re required to be the mask police.” Evers added that transportation workers should be receiving hazard pay for putting themselves in harm’s way.
