ATU Local 241 in Chicago meets with President Lee in Boston

Members of ATU Local 241 from Chicago and President John Lee met this past weekend to dicuss issues facing both organizations, such as contract negotiations / arbitration, grievances, service cuts – layoffs, training programs and many other issues.  When the meeting was over, all agreed that although we are from different cities, our issues and goals are the same. Information sharing is a vital tool for us to learn from one another.

    President Lee,
I would like to personally thank you for your vast wealth of knowledge that you were able to share. We have learned so many things during the trip and I would also like to thank your transit workers for helping us to move effortlessly through your city.

We understand that we are one and that building these relationships can help bring our hard working transit workers together and earn all of us a descent living while providing a service linking our communities. I can’t wait to visit again and I know that I have made a friend for life in Local 589.
    In solidarity,

    Michael McBride
    Assistant Trustee
    Local 241
