Unemployment Scam

scam alert

The MBTA Human Resources Department has gotten more reports lately of unemployment claims being filed without their knowing it.

If you get mail from the Department of Unemployment Assistance (DUA) about an unemployment claim that you didn’t file, that’s a sign of suspicious activity.

What you should do:

  1. Email Benefits@mbta.com
  2. Take a picture of any documentation you got from DUA and attach it to the email.
  3. Include your badge number and a good phone contact phone number for yourself.

Once Human Resources gets your email, they will report any potentially fraudulent claims to the proper authorities.

Thank you, and be safe.
