MBTA Appeals Dec. 19th Judgement

court-gavelDear members,

In a continuing effort to keep you updated on the court proceedings surrounding our arbitration award, we wanted to inform you that the MBTA has appealed the judgement made by Superior Court Judge Janet Sanders on Dec. 19th. Click here for a copy of the notice of appeal.

Our attorneys advise us and the union that the appeal has little chance, and that our award and contract remain in effect. We will continue to keep you updated as new information becomes available. If you have any questions, please contact the union office.

In solidarity,

Executive Board,
Boston Carmen’s Union, Local 589

    WHY Mr. President,

WHY are you even talking to the Authority/Mr.Davies at this point. The fifteen page. Opinion seems really strong the appeal close to baseless. Any ruling at this point basically after the fact would be limited/narrow.

Rumors of side deal at this point for the sake of time sound!!!!!!!

Please proceed to court do not pass go and be more forth comming with the members. It is now time for transparancy not last minuet back room deals.

I called the Union office last week and wanted info , they gave me GATZ( nothing) but the guy did say we were lucky and not going into the GIC, I said hey that was a stupid statement reason we will eventually go into the GIC i bet he thought I was a rookie with 28 years on LOL I don’t want to hear the GIC excuse come the meeting Tuesday its not going to save your executive arss’s. this is not the 1980’s when you can get away noty telling members of whats going on . Open your mouth.

First of all what do we expect from people who have absolutely no education or training in what an actual attorney at law would know. We go and vote for people to represent us who are just as if not more clueless than we are regarding our rights, needs, and obviously least important our wants. 589 is a joke and so is this whole contract bs. The contract from which should be renewed this year still hasn’t been negotiated because there are too many of our so called representatives out there kissing ass just to get what they personally need. I would rather keep my $16 dollars a week or $832 a year in my pocket and handle my own business. Apparently with money disappearing from the pension and no one is responsible or is being held accountable for they have no clue how to take care of their employees. Frig the union the governor, and anyone else who feels like we are over paid to deal with ignorant people including the ones we work with!
